How to Cheat Royal Caribbean Drink Package
Cruise lines have a way of enticing you to buy drinks packages, which in most cases is not a good deal. The cruise line will make it seem like they are giving you the best deal possible but really they are just trying to get as much money out of you as possible. Here is how we think we can get around this:
Walk the ship, find a bar with no one at it and order something
Walk the ship, find a bar with no one at it and order something.
If you can't see the bartenders, that's good. If you can see them and they're busy, even better! This is your chance to get creative with your drink order.
You might be thinking "But what if my drink isn't on their menu?" Well, so what? You're paying for this package aren't you? That means anything goes!
You might also be thinking "But what if they don't have ingredients for the drink I want?" Again, so what? You're paying for this package aren't you? That means anything goes!
And finally...what about drinks that aren't included in the package? Again...so what?! You're paying for this package aren't you!?
If you are in a bar, and they have lots to choose from that they dont have ingredients for, order something else.
If you are in a bar, and they have lots to choose from that they don't have ingredients for, order something else. In many cases, the bartender will be able to make you something similar or even better than what you had in mind. If not, try another bar or restaurant on board and see if they can accommodate your request. If all else fails, ask for a drink that is in the same category as what you want but with different ingredients (like a caipirinha instead of a mojito). Be polite!
Stick to no more than 3 drinks per day
This is the most important part of this guide. If you do not follow this step, you will have wasted your money on the drinks package. You should stick to no more than 3 drinks per day.
There are several reasons for this:
The first and most obvious reason is that it's pretty hard to drink more than 3 drinks when you're eating food at every mealtime and having fun exploring new places on a cruise ship!
It may seem like a good idea now, but after your third drink in a row—or perhaps even your second—you'll probably be feeling pretty good about yourself. After three or four cocktails over an evening with dinner, you'll likely be in no condition to remember anything that happened during dinner or later on in the evening (and if I'm being honest here, neither will anyone else). You might even find yourself waking up with no memory of anything that was said or done during the earlier hours of the night before (or perhaps even something embarrassing). As sad as it sounds...this kind of thing happens all too often when someone has too much alcohol at once!
You can cheat the drink package. It's possible, but it'll cost you.
One way to cheat it is by ordering a shot of liquor and then ordering an extra glass of wine or beer after that drink has been served, which will automatically charge you for the next glass. The trick here is that if your server gives you any type of questioning look about why you want another drink so soon after getting one, just ask them for a shot of straight alcohol and tell them you don't want any mixers; they'll take care of the rest. This method works because when you get a shot poured into an empty cup and then pour some alcohol into another glass after serving said shot (in this case, vodka), all order items are considered separate transactions—so if they think they're giving away booze too easily at first glance (which is likely), they won't realize until later what happened when their system registers two orders instead of one!
Hopefully this post has helped you understand how to cheat Royal Caribbean's drink package and save money. You may not be able to get all of the drinks that you want, but just remember to stick with no more than 3 drinks per day and don't order anything too fancy because they won't have the ingredients for it.
